This woolen blanket is inspired by the blankets woven by the Gaddi people in the Indian Himalaya. The Gaddi blankets are some of the first textiles to deeply inspire me. These simple, functional, beautiful blankets are the reason I started weaving. Frequently these blankets are woven in two or more narrower sections, hand stitched together using the stitch that you see here in this piece.

This blanket was woven on a warp of organic cotton-linen with a weft of hand dyed Chilean wool.

It measures 98 x 65 inches or 249 x 165 cm.
