This piece was woven by me, here at my home-studio in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico on a warp of organic cotton-linen and a weft of naturally dyed Tussah Silk. The naturally dyed shades come from a myriad plants and fungi that I have been collecting over the years.
This piece is the first of its kind from my loom. The naturally dyed Tussah is lusciously soft and weighty to the touch, the silk has a feeling truly unlike any other. It is quite a bit heavier than the raw silk that I usually use, and the selvedges are not hemmed, compared to my usual hemmed selvedges on most of my larger weavings. Please note, I do not know if this shawl will be suitable for baby-wearing.
It is 2.6m in length with hand-twined fringe on each end.
A random draw for a chance to purchase Spectral Rainbow Tussah Shawl is now under way and will close on Tuesday, February 7th. For more information, and to enter - https://forms.gle/fUMNoXU5rrzTe2br5
