Fully absorbed by the New Mexico Sun I prepare for cooler days ahead.
The north winds blow, the signal it’s time to bring merino creations to life.

This piece is a combination of hand-dyed hand-woven merino and vintage wool suiting felt. It was made from start to finish by me in my home/studio in Truth or Consequences, NM. The handwoven panel that adorns the center of this poncho was woven with both a warp and weft of merino wool. Into it were woven fringe, and at the back a solar circle.

Incorporated into the deep red wool suiting of the poncho are subtle appliqué pieces, patterns and pockets.

Laying flat this piece measures 58 inches wide x 35 inches long.
