Warrior for the earth

Protection from the elements

This cloak is a combination of handwoven Khadi wool that I brought home form the Himalayas and handwoven merino panels, dyed and woven by me in my home/studio in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.   The Khadi fabric was handwoven in Kinnaur Valley in Northern India and is in its natural grey color.   The handwoven merino panels are adorned with woven-in designs and sculptural felted fringe.

The neckline and arm holes are edged in hand dyed raw silk.

Laying flat this piece measures 56 inches from wrist to wrist and 33 inches long.
