Day trippin in Montana, exploring canyons and creeks. Classic summer days cruising the mountains, idly scooping stones by the icy waters edge and coming up with treasures. Real or imagined. Somewhere up a creek people find real treasure, while I am content with smooth gray stones and bits of ancient life, fossilized.

This piece is a collection of stones from Yogo Creek, bound together with sculptural knotwork. The centerpiece has a small segment of crinoid fossil fastened to the larger stone (which also contains a fossil) by a small silver peg. This small sculpture hangs from a chain of sterling silver, with a silver clasp at the back.

This piece is part of The Movement of Stones Project.
