This is the first piece woven on my newest warp of organic cotton-linen. After a summer away from the loom, weaving commenced October 17th, 2021, with a weft of hand dyed raw silk.
Inexplicably I was drawn to these blues for this, the first piece on the new warp. For those who know me, I am not a ‘blue person’, it’s not my color and not something I would normally choose to work with when designing a piece. Maybe it’s the luscious fall skies that have me entranced, maybe I’m longing to jump into the ocean, or to be back on the road, waking up under the dark skies of the mountains. Either way, it feels fluid.
