Soft Strata Infinity Scarf

This piece was woven on a warp of black walnut dyed merino with a weft of naturally dyed merino.  The dyes used in this piece are black walnuts, sandalwood, cochineal, marigolds, fustic, pecan shucks and blanketflower.  The construction of this piece is inspired by the traditional two panel handwoven blankets that I saw all over India.  (Though this style is found all over the world) The blankets, and this piece, were woven in two panels and hand-stitched together.  The merino that I used to stitch this piece was dyed with marigolds.

Into the warp were woven details of merino fringe, that were then lightly felted in post production. This piece measures 70 inches around and 9.75 inches wide.
