This piece was woven on a warp of black walnut dyed merino. The weft is silk-merino-seacell that was dyed with cochineal (the lighter fuchsias) and black walnuts along with merino that was dyed with lichen (the darker mulberry). Into the warp was woven a sculptural menagerie of cochineal and black walnut dyed silk-merino fringe along with textures of bulky merino and hand-twined merino cords.
This is the first piece ive woven with lichen dyed yarn, a dream come true!
This piece measures 56 inches around and 4.5 inches wide.
