Indigo & Black Walnut

Indigo & Black Walnut was woven on a warp of organic cotton-linen with a weft of raw silk that was all dyed with indigo and black walnuts. On one end are a few stripes of threads that are marigold with an indigo over-dye. The black walnuts were harvested in the mountains outside of where I live in Truth or Consequences, NM. One of my favorite times of the year is when it is time to go explore the forest in search of these majestic trees, and search the forest floor for these beautiful color-bearing fruits. The marigolds I harvested from my friend's garden in Las Cruces, NM.

This piece measures 4.6 meters in length and has unhemmed selvedges.
