This piece is Part 3 of the five part series of cochineal dyed etherial scarves.
Cochineal is an ancient and highly prized dyes originally from this continent, and from these deserts that I call home. It is an honor to be able to work with this amazingly potent dye source.
This scarf measures 31 x 74 inches and was woven on a warp of organic cotton-linen with a weft of cochineal dyed Tussah silk and a luscious merino/silk blend.
The oil painting that perfectly matches this piece in the background is by my partner, Kyle Cunningham
