Bringing to life things I have been dreaming about for a long time… When I dive into uncharted territory I only have a sense of what will come to life. This piece for me marks the beginning of something new in my work, and I am really excited where it will lead. This cloak incorporates two sculptural handwoven merino panels along with handspun-handwoven wool that I brought home from Kinnaur valley in India, edged with hand dyed raw silk. It is intention, protection, a wrap of love.

This piece was woven on a warp of organic cotton-linen with a weft of 3 and 4 ply raw silk. It has a wonderful heavy drape and cozy warmth. Although this piece has already found a new home, I am very much looking forward to creating more pieces like it in the new year. I am really appreciating its simplicity in form and style right now.

Much to my surprise, Heart Chakra found a new home this weekend from the Desert Archaic gallery here in Truth or Consequences, NM. Thanks Tim 🙂
It was created to embody the chakra of the heart, represented by green, but still containing all the other chakra elements – red, orange, yellow, blue, purple, violet.
While photographing this 3ply green shawl in the desert near my home, I came upon a stone containing shell fossils.
