The colors of new earth, from the heart of a volcano. This piece was woven as a custom with a warp of organic cotton-linen and a weft of hand dyed raw silk.
This piece was woven on a warp of organic cotton-linen with a weft of 3 and 4 ply raw silk. It has a wonderful heavy drape and cozy warmth. Although this piece has already found a new home, I am very much looking forward to creating more pieces like it in the new year. I am really appreciating its simplicity in form and style right now.
Querencia is a representation in cloth of the place where a heart resides. A heart resides among the red rocks, in the dark desert night, beneath the moon, with our loved ones close.
This piece was woven on a warp of organic cotton linen and a weft of naturally dyed cashmere and raw silk, as well as conventionally dyed raw silk. This is the first (and only) large weaving I have ever kept for myself. As soon as I made it, I fell in love with it, which is why I am so bummed that I no longer have it. After having dinner at the Taos Mesa Brewery with my mom and step-dad I left it on the back of my chair 😣 I called to confirm they had it in the lost and found, but wast able to get back there for some time. (as it is 6 hours from home) But, when I went back it was gone. 😭😭😭 Its my fault for forgetting it, I know….Just throwing this out into the universe in the tiny chance it comes back to me.
Due to complications, I still don’t have the full photos of this piece….but I will in the next few days. In the mean time, the random draw for a chance to purchase Gentle Way is open. All the info is here. https://goo.gl/forms/s5znzot86Sbs4S8t1
