Already dreaming of summertime in the mountains, hoping for summer storms and the fungi that follow. This pillow has two photos I took in the mountains of colorado of a Boletus edulis and an Amanita muscaria. Very frequently these two beautiful #mushrooms are found growing near to each other. Just to spread the mush love the scientific names of each are printed on the pillow too. This is the first of many products on the way combining my love for textiles, photography and mycology. Now available in my Etsy shop.
Other passions. Photography. Mycology. They are coming together in some fun projects and I’m really excited.
Symbiosis is a custom piece of Handwoven Art Yardage woven with both a warp and weft of organic cotton-linen. It was inspired by the brilliance of mushrooms and lichens that bind our world together.
Despite the tire blow out on the way, (luckily we had a spare) this mornings black walnut harvesting mission was a success! I also fouls some beautiful witch’s hats (hygrocybe conica), fluted elvin saddles (helvella crispa) and inky caps.
Dyeing with some earth star mushrooms and some other beautiful plants wild harvested in the Colorado Rockies.
A little cluster of chanterelles hiding on the forest floor.
