I never leave the house without my crochet hook and a bag full of wool when I am on a road trip. It is the easiest to start and stop, and portable enough to take it anywhere. This is a hat-in-progress which is to be felted that I worked on while in Wyoming visiting family.
This piece grew from many branches of inspiration, both tribal and modern. Handwoven with all hand dyed Merino wool in gradations, reminiscent of the waves and breaks in the clouds of a southwestern sunset. Brilliant and jarring in its beauty. Merino wool is as soft as it gets, no itch at all.
More color inspiration
Colors that I love, the vibrant and soft colors of the forrest floor. I took this yesterday on a hike up in the Colorado Rockies.
It is hard to believe sometimes, all that work for just a small handful of fabric.
A new, all silk, 40 ft warp I just pulled off hte loom today. It will be 3 skirt waist-bands, 2 dress waist-band, 5 head-bands, 7 cuffs and an ancle-cuff.
